Bespoke joinery for Benbow House Penthouse

Benbow House Penthouse
Architect: Susan Minter Design
Location: London SE1
Contract Duration: 22 Weeks

When our client purchased the top three floors of Benbow House, the brief was to link the floors together to create a private space, to facilitate the 360° panoramic views across all four corners of London and the tidal Thames.

Logistics planning was paramount, co coordinating road closures for crane lifting of plant and materials to the 10th floor so not disturb residents already occupying the lower spaces. Ensuring the new M & E services seamlessly integrated with the existing BMS.

Structural alterations commenced with temporary works, demolitions and installation of the supporting steelwork, linking the floors and creating the basis of the fluid and modern living space. Part of the building's outer skin was cut away to create a stainless steel and glass conservatory onto the 10th floor terrace
